Road Design System (RDS) & Data Collection |
As the refurbishment and
upgrading of major road networks become increasingly complex, pavement
rehabilitation (particularly the applying of an overlay) has become a primary
financial consideration in resources that are made to road authorities.
Engineers are required to incorporate quality overlay designs that will improve
rideability, as well as complying with changing standards and requirements.
Until now, engineers have had few automated systems to help them achieve this
objective. Most systems have been considered complex, time consuming, and
expensive.
For over 20 years PAVESET
and its associated companies have built a reputation in the road building
industry, both in Australia and overseas. As specialists in survey and paving
contracting, we have developed products to assist surveyors and contractors cut
operating costs and maintain quality. We now introduce an affordable PRODUCT
and SYSTEMS PACKAGE which will provide significant cost savings in
survey and level control associated with overlay projects.
PAVESET...... 3 ways to MAXIMIZE YOUR OVERLAY DOLLAR.

The trailer mounted sensor beams can be towed behind any vehicle, automatically plotting level and crossfall changes. Gathering cross sectional information every 12.5 feet longitudunally and 5 feet transversely, the data is stored into the computer at a speed of 5 MPH. A plot of the surface profile and cross sections can be produced by the software. This system also meets all profilograph specifications. |
The overall design program uses the ES2000 data or alternative survey elevations to produce a final overlay design. Using a predetermined design criteria of crossfalls, grade change, and minimum/maximum depths, RDS provides a detailed listing of all design depths and the material tonnage required. We also provide software which enables clients to view RDS crossfall and cross-section data. |
The
final design depths produced by RDS can now be interfaced with the
computerized grade controller. Connected to the paver, this provides
automatic screed level control without the need to set-up string lines,
and provides an accurate and quality overlay. Material can be placed with
no reduction in output rates to the contractor. |
